bullet They said it corner
"Listen, there are people that are coming down the pilot ladder of the prow. You go up that pilot ladder, get on that ship and tell me how many people are still on board. And what they need. Is that clear? You need to tell me if there are children, women or people in need of assistance. And tell me the exact number of each of these categories. Is that clear? Listen Schettino, that you saved yourself from the sea, but I am going to... I'm going to make sure you get in trouble. ...I am going to make you pay for this. Go on board."
Captain Gregorio De Falco
Captain De Falco of the Livorno Port Authority demanding the captain of the stricken cruise ship Costa Concordia to return on board where hundreds of passengers were still trapped.

bullet Omar White calls off engagement with Vivica corner

Atlanta club promoter Omar White has called off his engagement with actress Vivica A. Fox and says that he walked out because it didn't work.

'She's a good woman. It's just one of those situations where in life people outgrow each other,' White told TooFab.

'I'm highly intelligent, very wise, and one thing I hate is negativity and drama. I hate arguing, and I value communication no matter what the problem may be. So, as in any relationship, tension can build up and I finally had to walk away,' White, 28, added.

Despite their 19-year age gap, White insists he was 'only in it for love and it just didn't work out. Even though she was older than me, the age difference didn't play a part'.

Fox, 47, and White had been engaged for around 10 months, reports showbizspy.com.

bullet Atlanta Leader corner
The Atlanta Leader is essentially a local Atlanta newspaper, but with a national and international perspective, designed to provide readers with a one-stop shop for Atlanta, national US, regional, and world news coverage, weather and sports information, with live updates on breaking business stories, and what's happening in the financial markets.

The biggest advantage we have is that we are an online newspaper, which means we are constantly refreshing our stories as more and more information comes to hand. Often when a story breaks the initial details are sketchy.

We and our sources around the world work hard to gather more information, verify facts, and provide a perspective of the major stories. Expert opinion often accompanies our articles to better inform readers, and provide a more complete understanding
of the news we deliver.

Financial markets and business reports are regular features as we pin down what's happening, and constantly refresh stock market indice readings, dollar currency rates, and breaking business news reports. Our world sports coverage is a priority, as is our regional news.

We like to think if you're looking for breaking news out of Atlanta, Georgia, the United States, or the world, you'll look for it first at the Atlanta Leader.
