Think, "Weston Solutions, Inc. (Weston) and Silver Mountain Construction, LLC (SMC)," for the best in Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) service needs in the federal space. Last month, the General Services Administration (GSA) awarded the Silver Mountain Weston SB JV, LLC a Multiple Award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract for the design and construction of electric vehicle charging stations at federal agency locations throughout Geographic Zone A, which covers New England and Mid-Atlantic regions of the USA. The JV and teaming partners will perform studies, planning, design, construction, commissioning, and support services for EVSE systems in Zone A.
This award is one of the first GSA contracts to execute the federal government's design/construction conversion to electric vehicles in alignment with two new key Executive Orders. Having served the federal government in the design, construction, routine maintenance, and operation of federal vehicle fueling systems for over 20 years, Weston has the proven ability to streamline enterprise-wide solutions on the national, regional, and local levels; the JV is well-positioned to partner with GSA and the federal government to install EVSE systems in a wide range of environments in a timely and cost-effective manner. With this contract and in anticipation of other federal EVSE opportunities, Weston looks forward to supporting clients in their transition from traditional fueling to EVSE systems.
Weston and SMC collaborate under a formal SBA Mentor-Protege relationship, in which Weston provides developmental mentoring assistance to SMC, its protege. These JV members, as well as SMC's parent company, the North Wind Group, have effectively worked together for over 20 years on a variety of federal facility construction or enhancement projects. The Silver Mountain Weston SB JV is further strengthened by its subcontractor partners for this contract: Burns Engineering, Smart Charge America (SCA), and ABM Facility Support Services. Along with diverse local and regional subcontractors and suppliers, this powerhouse team will join their EVSE experience and expertise with the strength of Weston's processes, tools, and relationships to help our clients fulfill their EVSE goals and exceed expectations in delivering this important, sustainable work.
Our Contract Manager Bob Driscoll says, "I am delighted that the Silver Mountain Weston SB JV will be helping the GSA and its customers execute this important EVSE D/B installation work. The initiative's impact will be good for the nation and the climate."
